this summer

at the beginning of the summer, nate's parents were able to visit us. it was great to show them where we lived and show them some of wisconsin too. we visited the house on the rock, the dells, and old world wisconsin. we had so much fun with them and can't wait until they can visit us in our new area.

jane also took her first gymnastics class. she loved it! she is naturally very coordinated and has good balance, so she did very well and can't wait to do another class soon.

we also spent a week with my family in northern wisconsin. we did all the typical summer things from my childhood (jim peck's, ski show, nature walks, mad dog jake's, swimming at dairyman's). we had so much fun and it was so amazing to be in the woods and enjoying nature.

while nate joined us for a lot of fun this summer, he spent most of his time painting a mural. this is a picture of it close to being done. the school he worked at in marshfield commissioned the piece. he spent so many hours at the school busting this out. he is pretty pleased with the finished piece.
